How is an Istanbul taxi fare calculated?
Yellow taxi: 71.94 TL start fee plus 47.92 TL per km, minimum fare 230 TL (official İBB tariff since 2026-07-20). Below 12.5 km/h the meter charges by time (9.98 TL per minute for a yellow taxi) instead of by distance.
Do taxis in Turkey charge more at night?
No. None of the covered cities has a night rate: the meter tariff is the same 24 hours. Only the Eurasia Tunnel toll is lower from 00:00 to 04:59.
Are bridge and tunnel tolls included?
Tolls are added to the meter and paid by you. The app adds the known tolls of each route to the estimate and names them.
Is the estimate a fixed price?
No. It is an estimate from the published tariff and the road distance. The taximeter, the route and traffic decide the real fare; the meter check shows whether the reading makes sense.
