Common questions

Why a range, not one price? The low end is the shortest road; the high end allows an 8% longer route and, in the daytime, slow traffic (in Istanbul the meter charges time instead of distance below 12.5 km/h). Tolls are added on top.

Is there a night rate? None of the covered cities has a night tariff. At night only the Eurasia Tunnel toll is lower (00:00–04:59).

How does the meter check work? Start it when the taxi moves off. The app measures the distance with GPS and applies the tariff you chose: start fee plus per km, or per minute in slow traffic where the city has a per-minute rate. The minimum fare applies when you pay. Tunnels interrupt GPS; the gap is bridged with a straight line and flagged. The check keeps running with the screen locked and asks before it ends; an ended ride can be resumed.

Can I use it outside Turkey? Fare estimates work anywhere: choose an airport or search a place in Turkey as the start. The meter check needs a real taxi ride in a covered city.

The meter shows much more. What now? Check the taxi class on the sticker (Istanbul has four classes), ask about the route, ask for a receipt (fiş) and note the plate. Complaints: the city's line 153.

How do I get new tariffs? Tariffs change 2–3 times a year. The app checks once a day for a signed update (Tips & tariffs → Check for new tariffs). Airport fares and the meter check work offline with the tariffs on your iPhone; searching a hotel or address needs the internet.
